Michael Heffernan - furniture maker/designer
I have been creating handcrafted, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces since the 1980's. From 1996 - 2008, I traveled the world as principal designer and buyer for Material Culture, a company that imports antiques, furniture, art,
and artifacts. The cultures of India, Africa, China, and Indonesia have influenced my aesthetic; much of my current inspiration comes from this global perspective and America's own Arts and Crafts movement. I draw upon an eclectic combination of architectural elements, cultural motifs, and furniture styles during the design process, to create pieces that will fit their space and reflect the taste and style of my clients.
